Much more than just a HUGE rockshop...

PEARL HUNTER

Pick out your very own REAL freshwater clam, crack it open and find one of 5 colored REAL pearls inside. Sometimes they even contain twin pearls. You can also pick from many different styles of necklaces that you can put your pearl in and wear.

PAN FOR GEMS

Choose your bucket, starting at $20 up to mega buckets that are $100+. Take your bucket to the sluice and use your scoop too fill your sieve. Let the water wash away the sand to reveal rocks and gems. Special buckets available that contain Herkimer Diamonds, Opals, Fossils or Rubies. Fall is our favorite time of year and not just because it's cooler, the trees turn colors and we love hot cider - it's because it's time for the annual Great Raven Renaissance Festival. To find out more CLICK HERE.

SPRING FESTIVAL

Every spring, on the first Saturday in May, we host the Rockhound Festival. This is one time a year where we invite all our competition to our parking lot to sell, because we believe everyone can work together to thrive. Live music, face painting, store-wide sale, 40+ rock and metaphysical vendors, oddities, food truck, demonstrations, classes and more. To find out more - CLICK HERE.

PARTY RENTAL

Host your next Birthday Party, Graduation, Corporate outing, over 40 party, family reunion and more in the Trading Post at Rockhound. Every rental comes with the use of the Old Mill House which is temperature controlled, with a full kitchen and holds about 20-25 people. If additional room is needed, we can put tents up in the back yard. Come and enjoy all the activities we offer while you celebrate! More about party rentals CLICK HERE

Plainwell Ice Cream

We serve 16 flavors of delicious and local Plainwell Ice Cream in waffle cone, cake cone or cup. We also have milkshakes, Slurries, brownie sundaes and more.

Full Restaurant

Prospector's Cook House is located across the street from the main rock shop and features homecooked meals, hamburgers, bowls, sandwiches, salads, soups and more. Show your receipt from the rock shop and get a discount on your food. Order online, see the menu - CLICK HERE

Mineral Museum

A new project coming to Southwest Michigan. Currently in the fundraising stage, we're hoping to break ground in the next year or so. If you are interested in making a donation to the museum or being on the board, please contact us. The Michigan Mineral Museum (MMM) is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Find out more CLICK HERE

BOOKSTORE

In the front of the rock shop we have a VERY cozy bookstore called the Creak Floor Bookstore. We host a monthly Poetry & Short Stories night as well as Michigan Author Meet & Greets. Make sure you keep an eye on the Master Calendar of events below to see when activities occur.

Classes

Pottery, Wire-Wrapping, Felting, Cabochons, Beekeeping, Canning, Baking, Lampwork, and Ceramics are just a few of the classes offered all year long at Rockhound. Keep an eye out on our Master Calendar below or watch for Facebook Event posts for upcoming classes.
